Q: I have a 2003 Chevy S-10 regular cab and I am going to install a Belltech 2/3 drop kit on it. I wanted to put an 18x7 rim with 225/40/18 tires on it. Will I have any clearance problems with this rim and tire combination and a 2/3 drop?
A: The rim and tire combination will not cause any clearance problems with the Belltech 2/3 drop kit you plan on installing. Typically you want to check for two things. First, you want to make sure you have adequate clearance between the tire and the fender without obstruction. Secondly, check the fender lip for rubbing while turning. You may have to get the fender lips rolled. This is when the inner fender lip is rolled up for added clearance. This will prevent the tire from rubbing on the fender lip. Any body shop should be able to roll fender lips.
