Brake Upgrade

Q: My question is about brake upgrades. Now that I have more power and torque, should I stay with the OE rotor size or upgrade to a larger size rotor? I have 16” rims on my truck.

A: Since you have added more power and torque, you should increase the stopping power of the vehicle. However, due to clearance considerations, you may find it difficult to use a larger diameter rotor without plus sizing your wheels. That being said, you can get upgraded brake performance by using a stock size performance rotor such as ProStop, PowerSlot or Baer Decelarotors. I would also recommend using a high performance brake pad such as Hawk for the total package. These choices will give you increased braking performance.
