Bill, that's a very good question and I think that I've got some good news for you.  Yes, you can stick a 1998 and newer Chevrolet S10 front end onto a 1994-1997 model.  And it's pretty much the parts you mentioned.  You need a donor grille assembly, headlights, parking/corner lamps, radiator brackets, headlight brackets...all sorts of stuff.
