Q: I have a 2002 Ford Expedition 2wd with the 5.4L motor. It's also equipped with the rear air suspension. I am wondering what the best lowering kit would be for my application. I only want to lower it two inches or so. Do you have a lowered suspension kit for my application? - Eric
A: Eric,
We do have a few suspension lowering kits available for your application. Because of the unique rear suspension on the Ford Expedition, the lowering kits include some items that most kits don't. The front of the Expedition receives new coil springs while the rear will be receiving new mounting brackets for the factory airbags as well as limiting straps.
The kits we recommend come from Belltech Suspension. They both include the same lowering components, but each kit contains different shocks. Kit # 412BLT comes with Belltech Nitro Drop Shocks, the other kit, # 413BLT comes with Belltech Nitro-Active shocks.
Belltech Nitro-Drop shocks are designed to offer the best possible performance at an affordable price – something that’s always been a compromise in the past.
The Nitro-Active shock, Belltech's top-of -the-line gas shock absorber, features higher gas pressure to keep your vehicle glued to the road. Nitro-Active shocks provide unsurpassed control even with the most demanding road conditions.
Both of these kits are great. The shocks are great and so is Belltech. Give one of those kits a try.
